Flowers and Lemons

I had the idea of painting a Chinese garden. It’s filled with orange trees and lemon trees. There is also a bridge over a lake with goldfish.

Christelle Papadakis
Tiger Spider
marker on paper
30cm x 21cm

I like the stripes on spiders and wanted to draw one. I made it orange to match the colours and stripes of a tiger.

Samra Angilo
The Girl Who's Full of Dreams
watercolour and marker on paper
21cm x 30cm
2020
not for sale
I love the style of Japanese art. I used watercolour to make her look beautiful and natural. She is a woman who is searching for her dreams.

Jacko Meyers
Melissa George
I first saw Melissa George as an actor in the early years of Home and Away. When I found this image of her in a magazine I wanted to paint her! I painted her with acrylic and tried a new technique of scratching into the paint to create the textures on the wall.

Allison Davies
Country Drive
pencil and marker on paper
20cm x 23cm
2020
not for sale
I was inspired by a country drive and wanted to create the view you see as you travel along the road.

Wayne Emerson
Lighthouse
When I went to the central coast, I noticed a lighthouse that you could visit and view. It would light up the ocean when the ships went past.

Adrian Buntin
Freddie Mercury
pencil on paper
21cm x 30cm
2020
not for sale
I’ve always liked Queen but I’d never drawn any of the band members before. Freddie is one of my favourite singers and it’s interesting that doctors thought his back teeth pushing his other teeth forward gave him such a great voice! I wrote the quote about Freddie and added it to the drawing.

Ana
Mitzi
marker on paper
21cm x 30cm
2020
not for sale
Mitzi is a transgender female mouse created with markers. She is shown with the representational trans colours of light pink and blue.

Rochelle Hapgood
Free Willy
Killer whales look nice but I know they’re dangerous! I wanted to do a killer whale because they remind me of the Free Willy movies.

Steven O'Hara
Coral Reef
acrylic on board
64cm x 104cm
2020
not for sale
I painted this coral reef with ships going across the ocean. I loved using bright colours for the different coral.

Annelise Triulcio
Seahorse
pen on paper
30cm x 42cm
2020

I was looking through images of marine life and I found this seahorse. I created the lines with different coloured pens to see what colours suited it.

Raine Mitter
Music Player
acrylic on card
20cm x 20cm

I used all the different colours for this work because I thought it would look nice. I felt happy when I was making it!

Tabitha Harmer
Twilight in Everest
marker on canvas
10cm x 10cm
2020
I was wondering what it would look like if two of my characters Twilight and Everest mixed together. Twilight is a pony and and Everest is a puppy .

Isobel Lambert
Fig Tree Wonderland
My brain decided to have the idea of making a fig tree and be a bit different, to explore different things. I liked the process of printing the image and then working back into it with pens and pencil. My favourite thing about my picture is the colours I put into it.

Laura Jack
Over the Rainbow
I cut up my old patterned paintings and arranged them with some collage papers to create this work. I called it Over the Rainbow because of the bright colours.

Damian Triulcio
Himeji Castle
monoprint on paper
21cm x 29cm
2020
not for sale
This work is the first in a series of experiments into monoprinting. The style of the image reminds me of a scene from of an old anime movie.
