Artist of the Month- January; Isobel Lambert

Describe your art practice?
It’s flamboyant, happy, beautiful, lots of line work.
When and why did you become an artist?
I wanted to spend time doing art and make new friends and learn some new artistic techniques, it’s a lot of fun!
What influences you as an artist?
Pictures, butterflies, animals, looking at other artworks and my imagination.
What are your plans for future work?
I would like to do sketches of characters and people.
February- Layla Bacayo at the Blue Room
Layla Bacayo will be working on a series of prints based on her kooky medical mash-ups. These works will fly out of the country with Layla as she travels to Liverpool to do a residency at the Blue Room Supported Studio, based in Bluecoat- Liverpool's centre for the contemporary arts.
February- Next in Line Films; Brae Tye


Wagga Wagga based video production company Next in Line Films will be in the studio to work with artist Brae Tye to show how and why Brae creates his works.
February- Kellie Hulm; Wagga Wagga Art Gallery Shop Commission

Kellie Hulm will be working on a large-scale canvas to create a Japanese themed work for the Shop of the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery.
February 18- Steven O’Hara; Stories from the Bush
Exhibition Opening

Steven O’Hara will be presenting his first solo exhibition Stories from the Bush in the Riverina Community College Gallery. This exhibition brings together Steven’s paintings, drawings, prints and sculptures spanning the years that he’s worked at The Art Factory (2016-Present).
Official Opening: Tuesday 18 February 11am-12pm

March 7- Halfway Print Festival

Halfway Print Festival is back for its third installment. HPF brings together zine-makers, bookmakers, writers, designers and artists for a day of creativity. The Art Factory will be featuring a stall with artist prints for sale and Damian will be doing a reading of his Screen-Play.

March 17- Wayne Emerson workshop at the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery

Established artist Wayne Emerson will be running a workshop where he will demonstrate and assist artists in creating acrylic paintings with a nature-based theme.

April- Wagga Wagga City Council’s FRESH Festival; The Portrait Factory

The Art Factory are inviting members of the public to visit the studio and gallery to sit and have their portrait painted by the artists, under the guidance of professional arts practitioner and studio crew member Kerrie Rudd. These portraits will be celebrated in an exhibition opening on the Saturday.
