Createability Internship 2026
The Art Factory artist Adrian Buntin is taking an exciting step in his professional arts practice after being awarded a Createability Internship with Erth Visual & Physical Inc.
For Adrian, the internship offers an opportunity to step outside his familiar studio environment and experience working within a professional creative organisation in the city.
I knew it was going to be a different experience for me, both on the job site and being in the city. It will be a challenge.
Adrian is particularly looking forward to developing his practical making and fabrication skills. During his placement, he hopes to gain new tips, techniques and approaches to metal fabrication and working with power tools.
These skills connect strongly with Adrian’s existing creative practice, which combines character design, costume making, prop building and fabrication. He hopes the experience will help him improve future designs, making his creations stronger, more durable and better able to stand the test of time.
At The Art Factory, Adrian is currently developing a series of sketches for his own character designs while continuing his costume and prop-making practice.
One of his recent projects is his “Judge” uniform, inspired by the 2012 film Dredd. Adrian designed the badge digitally before printing the design, creating a silicone mould and cold casting the finished piece in resin. He then used specialist finishing techniques to give the badge the appearance of metal.
For Adrian, an important part of making is transforming an idea into something tangible and lasting.
Hopefully, people will be able to see the vision I had
Adrian says working at The Art Factory has helped prepare him for opportunities such as the Createability Internship through encouragement and practical support, including assistance with his application and interview video.
Having a dedicated studio also provides Adrian with space to experiment, develop ideas and connect with other artists.
The internship represents an important opportunity for Adrian to expand his skills, experience a new professional creative environment and bring new knowledge back into his own practice.
During my placement, I hope to use the skills that I learn.
